HINTON, Iowa -- Maynard John Frank, 73, of Hinton passed away Thursday, May 12, 2005, at his residence following a lengthy illness.

Memorial services will be 7 p.m. Monday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City, with the Revs. Craig Bock and Kris Persaud officiating. Visitation with the family present will be 6 p.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home.

Maynard John Frank was born April 23, 1932, in Avon, S.D., the son of Albert and Caroline (Vilhauer) Frank. He served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean War.

He married Charlotte De Stigter on April 7, 1956, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Sioux City.

He was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Frank of Hinton; three children and their spouses, Greg and Debra Frank of Powell, Ohio, Pamela and Darrell Oban of Sloan, Iowa, and Jeff and Sharmayne Frank of Sioux City; six grandchildren, Ashley, Carrie, Amanda, Andy, Abagail and Jayce; a brother and his wife, Robert and Shirley Frank of Sioux City; two brothers-in-law, Robert De Stigter and his wife, Marilyn, and Albert Doubek; and two sisters-in-law, Lucille and Marlene Frank.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Donny and Vern Frank; and a sister-in-law, Ivadella Doubek.
