THEODORE JOHNSON

Funeral for Theodore M. Johnson, 79, LeMars, will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St. John's American Lutheran Church, LeMars.

Rev. David Kramer will officiate and burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, LeMars, under the direction of the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home. The family will be at the funeral home from 7-8 p.m. Friday.

Mr. Johnson died unexpectedly Tuesday (March 19, 1985) at his Weslaco, Tex., winter home. He retired from farming in 1969.

He was born Aug. 5, 1905, in Plymouth County to Hieke and Trintje Gerjets Johnson. He married Rieka Lauchstadt Dec. 13, 1935, in Plymouth County. He was a member of St. John's American Lutheran Church.

Survivors are his wife, Rieka, LeMars; a daughter, Mrs. Rick (Mavis) Thomas, Auburn, Neb.; two sons, Ron L. Johnson of Marshalltown and David R. Johnson of Alcester; a brother, Carl Johnson, Alcester; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Johnson, Fairmont, Minn., and Mrs. Marie Miller, Hanska, Minn.; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and four sisters.
