ARTHUR JOHNSON

Arthur Johnson, 90, Tucson, Ariz., formerly of Hawarden, died Feb. 26, 1987, at his home in Tucson.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars. Jack Hebard of Christ Lutheran Church, Grant Township, will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens in LeMars. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.

Mr. Johnson was born Jan. 21, 1897, at Hawarden to Thom and Anna Peterson Johnson. He served in the United States Army during World War I, being inducted Sept. 14, 1918. He married Esther Mae Bauerly May 2, 1925, at Elk Point. The couple farmed in the Hawarden area and moved to Arizona in 1957. She died April 20, 1974.

Mr. Johnson was a member of the American Legion. Surviving is a sister-in-law, Mildred Singer, of LeMars; and grand-nieces and nephews in the Hawarden, California, Washington and Chicago areas.
