Funeral services for John Henry Hanno, 86, who died Sunday at the Happy Siesta Nursing Home, Remsen, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Mauer Funeral Chapel. Rev. Arnold " and Rev. Paul [illegible] will officiate. Burial will be in LeMars Memorial Cemetery. Mauer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Hanno died after several years of illness. He was preceded in death by his wife, who died in September 1958. He was born July 27, 1882, in Pottawattamie County the son of Mr. and Mrs. Claus Hanno.

He came to Plymouth County and lived near Remsen before moving to the LeMars vicinity. He also lived a short time near Howard, S.D. Mr. Hanno had been living in the nursing home since August last year. Before that he lived at 235 Central Avenue, SW. He was a retired farmer and painting contractor.

Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Thelma) Ladenberger, Los Angeles; a grandson, D. John Ladenberger, a student at Westmar College; a brother Charles Hanno, Mitchell, S.D.; a sister Mrs. J. D. (Lillian) South, Biloxi, Miss.; and nieces and nephews. Five brothers and two sisters preceded him in death in addition to this wife.
