Charles Wesley Hoefle, 71, of LeMars, died Tuesday, Mar. 8, 1983, at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center, Sioux City, after a brief illness.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Johnson-Luken Funeral Home in LeMars. Rev. Robert Hanthorn officiated. Buria was in Resthaven Cemetery, LeMars.

Mr. Hoefle was born May 12, 1911, in Des Moines, to Charles Wesley and Mabel (Bovee) Hoefle. He graduated from Roosevelt High School, Des Moines, in 1929. He entered the retail grocery business and was employed at Newton, Akron, Westfield, Hawarden and Sibley.

He moved to LeMars in 1961 where he was employed at the LeMars Fruit and Grocery Store as produce manager until retiring in 1970.

His marriage to Frances Nelson took place Jan. 24, 1936, at Princeton, Mo.

Surviving are his wife, Frances of LeMars; one son, Charles W. of Ft. Meade, Md.; one daughter, Mrs. Noel (Sharyn) Ahmann of Remsen and four grandchildren, Christopher, Maria, Meg and Martin Ahmann.

Pallbearers were Lowell Day, Ralph Hunter, Lowell Marbach, Bruce Shostak, Mack Taylor and Donald Winchester.
