OMA O. GASSMAN

AKRON, Iowa --- Oma O. Gassman, 88, of Akron died Friday, June 2, 1995, at the Akron Care Center after a brief illness.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church inAkron with the Rev. William Flemr officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Akron. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 7 to 8 p.m., at the Schroeder Funeral Home in Akron.

Mrs. Gassman was born March 14, 1907, on a farm south of Akron, the daughter of Ray and May (Wagner) Ogden. She graduated from Akron High School in 1925 and received a teaching certificate from Morningside College. She taught schools for several years in Plymouth County. In 1928, she married Grant Gassman. Longtime Akron residents, they owned and operated Gassman Motor Co. and the Ford dealership for many years. Mr. Gassman died in 1976. She had spent the last 10 winters in Mesa, Ariz.

Mrs. Gassman was a longtime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Akron. She had been active in Akron community affairs.

Survivors include a son, Clark and his wife, Jan of Canyon Country, Calif.; two brothers and their wives, Bartley Ogden and Manie of Odebolt and Gene Ogden and Roberta of Arlington, Va.; a sister, Gladys Eilers of Alcester, S.D.; two granddaughters, Jill Andrews and Kara Nordberg; four great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Dennis Andrews, Dale Nordberg, Kenneth Fertig, Rod and Lee Reoh and Bob Frerichs.
