KATHERINE BAACK
Mrs. Katherine Johanna Baack, 86, LeMars, a Plymouth county native, died Thursday (July 15, 1982) at Floyd Valley Hospital after a long illness. She had been hospitalized since May.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Craig. Rev. William Gregerson will officiate and burial will be in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Craig, under the direction of the Mauer funeral home.
A prayer service will be held Saturday at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Katherine Johanna Plueger was born Jan. 21, 1896, in Plymouth County to Charles and Mary Albers Plueger. She married Carl William Fred Baack Jan. 23, 1919, at the farm home of her parents. The couple farmed in Sioux County, Ireton, the Craig area and Grant township, Plymouth County, from 1941 to 1955 when they moved to LeMars.
Her husband died June 8, 1954. She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter and a son, Donald Baack, who died March 11, 1980, and a brother and sister.
She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Klemme, LeMars and Mrs. Donald (Doris) Haage, rural Akron; one son, Duane Baack, Littleton, Colo.; 10 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
