FRANCIS EVERHART

Francis L. Everhart, 77, of LeMars, died Sunday, April 24, 1994, at a Sioux City hospital.

Mr. Everhart was born Dec. 30, 1916, in Farnhamville, Iowa, the son of General W. and Myrtle (Coon) Everhart. He married Dorothy Wampler June 21, 1947, at Alta. She died Jan. 21, 1971.

He was employed with IPS from 1946 to 1971. He then operated his own welding business until his death.

Mr. Everhart served in the U.S. Army from 1942-1945, serving in the 134th Battalion 348th Brigade. He was a member of First Baptist Church in LeMars.

Survivors are two sons, Reginald Everhart and his wife, Jalaine, of LeMars, and Roger Everhart of Portland, Ore.; a daughter, Roxann and her husband, John Hermes, of LeMars; two sisters, Harriette Moye and her husband, David, of Dallas, Texas, and Beryl Everhart of Lohrville.

He was also preceded in death by in death by his parents; two grandson, Joshua and Damon, and five brothers.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars, with Rev. Gordon Rhodes officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, LeMars. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Wednesday with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
