MRS. R. SPAULDING
Mrs. Ralph Spaulding, 78, of Pierson died Saturday (Dec. 23, 1978) at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church. Rev. Jeanne Groom will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery under the direction of the Dickinson-Michaelson funeral home of Kingsley.
Mrs. Spaulding , the former Pansy Violet Leonard, was born Oct. 25, 1900, near Bronson. She graduated from Pierson high school in 1918 and attended business school in Sioux City. She married Ralph Spaulding on July 10, 1920, in Sioux City. He died in 1978.
Mrs. Spaulding lived in the Grand Meadow and Pierson area, moving to Person in 1945. She was employed as a cook at the Pierson school until she was 65 and worked as a cook at the Colonial Manor Nursing Home at Kingsley for several years.
She was a member of the Rebekkah lodge and the United Methodist Church in Pierson.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Roy (Frances) Egbert of Pleasant Hill, Calif.; a son, Roy, of Pierson; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Pelton, of Seattle, Wash., and Mrs. Harriett Bruene of Cherokee, and six grandchildren.
