Burton James Eisma, 69, of rural Maurice, died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 1990, at Floyd Valley Hospital in LeMars after a brief illness. He was a retired farmer.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Calvin Christian Reformed Church in LeMars with Rev. Edward Visser officiating. Burial will be in LeMars Resthaven Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Thursday at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars with the family present from 7-8 p.m.
Mr. Eisma was born March 6, 1921, in Sioux County to Sipke and Jennie Katje Eisma. He was a veteran of WW II in the United States Army and a member of Calvin Christian Reformed Church in LeMars and Bertram Post 276 of the American Legion in Ireton.
His marriage to Gertrude Florence Maassen took place March 15, 1946, in Maurice.
Survivors are his two sons, Rodney and his wife, Connie, of LeMars, and Stanley and his wife, Shirley Eisma, Maurice; six grandchildren, Gretchen, Nicholas and Brandy, children of Rodney and Connie Eisma, LeMars; and Christopher, Jeremy and Jackie Eisma, children of Stanley and Shirley Eisma of Maurice; four brothers, Sideny, Peter and Allen Eisma of Ireton and Eugene Eisma of Inwood; a sister, Mrs. Sadie DeVries, Denver.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife who died, Nov. 15, 1979, and brother, Ernest.
