AKRON, Iowa --- Rosella E. Anderson, 69, or rural Akron died Friday, Jan. 10, 1997, at a Sioux City hospital, following a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Akron, with the Rev. William Flemr officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery at Akron. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m., at the Schroeder Funeral Home in Akron.
Mrs. Anderson was born June 7, 1927, at Hawley, S.D., to Wesley W. and Genevieve C. (Sand) Peterson. She graduated from Huron High School at Huron, S.D., in 1946. She married Stanley Anderson on Oct. 6, 1946, at Immanuel Lutheran Church at Akron. She taught Sunday school for many years, and worked at the Akron Care Center. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cooking and gardening.
She was a member of the Union County, S.D., Extension Club, Immanuel Lutheran Church of Akron, Akron American Legion Auxiliary, and the ELCW.
Survivors include her husband of rural Akron; two sons, Richard and his wife Peggy of Sioux City, and Rodney of Sioux Falls, S.D.; one daughter and her husband, Anita and Bruce Johnson of Beresford, S.D.; one sister, Lillian Fox, of Mahamet, Ill.; one brother and his wife, Carlisle and Lotti Peterson of Huron, S.D.; and four grandchildren, Jennifer and Wade Johnson, and Amy and Ryan Anderson.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Carole; her parents; and one sister, Bonnie Whitney.
Pallbearers include John and Vernon Sand, Kenneth, Keith and Lynn Swanson and Marvin Toben.
