LAURETTA G. AMICK
Lauretta G. Hoefling Amick, 88, of Sioux City died Thursday, April 5, 2001, at a Sioux City nursing home.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Hillside Cemetery in Merrill, Iowa, with the Rev. LeRoy Mead of New Hope Wesleyan Church officiating. There will be no visitation. Rush Family Care Service in Onawa, Iowa, is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Amick was born March 22, 1913, in Plymouth County, the daughter of Daniel and Nettie (Rembe) Tooker. She married Harold A. Hoefling in 1928. They farmed in Plymouth County and later moved to Sioux City. They lived in California for a short time before returning to Sioux City. He died in 1971. She also was married to Harrison Amick.
Survivors include a daughter, Jacqueline Pearson of North Sioux City; five sons, Harold W. and his wife, Bette Hoefling of Visalia, Calif., Gerald D. and his wife, Lucy Hoefling, and Ronald and his wife, Judith Hoefling, all of Morgan Hill, Calif., Darold D. Hoefling of Sioux City, and Donald Hoefling of Minnesota; 21 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands; a daughter and son-in-law, Eileen and Paul Golden; five sisters; and three brothers.
