Life’s End
Rites Are Pending for Alfred Albers, Hinton Community School Bus DriverFuneral services are pending for Alfred Albers, 52-year-old Hinton community school bus driver, who died Tuesday evening at a Sioux City Hospital of injuries suffered when the school bus he was driving collided with a freight train in Hinton.
Arrangements will be by Mauer’s funeral home here, with burial in Resthaven Memory Gardens.
Alfred Carl Albers was born January 12, 1909, near LeMars in Grant Township. He was a lifelong resident of Plymouth and Sioux Counties, except for one year spent in California.
His marriage to Lucille Trafton took place July 2, 1932, at Hawarden.
In addition to driving a school bus, Mr. Albers was employed as a mechanic at the Hinton school garage.
Surviving are his wife, Lucille; three sons, Wayne in New York state, Dale of Hinton and Jerry of LeMars, and one grandchild.
Also surviving are three sisters and four brothers; Mrs. Henry (Viola) Bohms of Struble, Mrs. John (Mildred) Huls of LeMars, Mrs. Walter (Loetta) Nees of Central Paint, Ore., Raymond and Wallace, both of Sacramento, California, and Marvin and Lester, both of Klamath Falls, Oregon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert G. and Amelia Baack Albers, and a sister, Leona.
