MARCUS, Iowa -- Gladys M. Collins, 75, of Le Mars, Iowa, formerly of Marcus, died Friday, Dec. 5, 2003, at Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Meadow Star United Methodist Church in rural Pierson, Iowa, with the Rev. Bill Cotten officiating. Burial will be in Kingsley Cemetery. Visitation will begin after 2 p.m. today, with the family present 5 to 7 p.m., at Rohde-Earnest Funeral Home in Kingsley, Iowa.
Gladys was born Feb. 28, 1928, in Moville, Iowa, the daughter of Dominic and Martha (Byers) Kisting. She graduated from Moville High School in 1946.
She married Don Collins on Oct. 28, 1949. After their marriage they lived on a farm in the Grand Meadow area east of Kingsley. They lived on the farm until 2000, at which time they moved to Le Mars.
She was a member of Meadow Star Methodist Church, UMW, Ladies Auxiliary and Eastern Star.
Survivors include her husband, Don of Le Mars; four sons, Richard Collins and his wife, Bonnie of Marcus, Robert Collins and his wife, LeAnne of Hartley, Iowa, Ronald Collins and his wife, Rose of New Orleans, La., and Ryan Collins and his wife, Alison of Monticello, Ark.; 10 grandchildren, Stacey Evans, Ben Collins, Nate Collins, Jon Collins, Asher Collins, Alecia Collins, Kim Adams and Derrick Adams, Tyler Collins and Logan Collins; a great-grandchild, Kaden Evans; a brother, Raymond Kisting of Washington, D.C.; and a sister, Alice Haggin of Moville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Charley; and two sisters, Leona Yates and Lottie Bowers.
