KINGSLEY, Iowa -- Keith Davis, 88, of Kingsley died Thursday, Aug. 7, 2003, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Moville Evangelical Church in Moville, Iowa, with the Rev. Ken Brakefield officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Township Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 5 to 7 p.m., at Christy-Smith McCulloch Chapel in Moville.

Mr. Davis was born Sept. 18, 1914, in rural Moville, the son of Lee Adelbert and Martha Caroline (Kissinger) Davis. He was raised in the Anthon, Iowa, area and attended school in Anthon. He joined the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1933, as a cook. He served in the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1946.

He married Georgia M. Reynolds on Jan. 20, 1936, in Hampton, Ark. Following their marriage, they lived in Moville. In 1964, they moved to Carroll, Iowa, then to Okoboji, Iowa. They wintered in Bella Vista, Ark. from 1976 until moving there in 1986. They returned to Moville in 1995. Mrs. Davis died Feb. 15, 2003, in Sioux City.

He had a milk route and was employed at Weaver Turkey Farm. He also assisted his wife at various restaurants that they owned and operated.

He was a member of Moville Evangelical Church and Liberty Baptist Church in Arkansas. He also was a member of the American Legion. He loved his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He also loved to cook. He enjoyed baseball, where he played second base and catcher. He also enjoyed golfing, all sports and taking care of the American Legion stand at the Woodbury County Fair.

He is survived by his children and their spouses, Sharon and Armin "Buzz" Groom of Streator, Ill., Terry and Mirinda Davis of Harrisburg, Pa., and Gloria and Jon Wahlberg of Moville; a brother and his wife, Robert and Darlene Davis of Moville; grandchildren, Shelly Donahue, Scott Groom and his wife, Deanne, and Mundi Wahlberg, all of Colorado, Suzzette and her husband, George Kostjal of Harrisburg, Pa., Nikole Davis of Atlanta, Ga., and Matt Wahlberg and his wife, Heather, of Arizona; great-grandchildren, Lindsey Donahue, David Schumaker and his wife, Mariyam, Chris Schumaker and his wife, Marcia, Samuel Donahue and Blakeley Kostjal; great-great-grandchildren, Trae and Alexis Schumaker; and two brothers-in-law, Sheldon Hanneman of Savannah, Ga., and Wilbur Zitzlsperger of Mesa, Ariz.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; and a nephew, Lyle "Bud" Hanneman.

Pallbearers will be Scott Groom, Shelly Donahue, Mundi Wahlberg, Matthew Wahlberg, Suzzette Kostjal and Nikole Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be Craig and Rob Davis, Cathy Lebdell, Bob Hanneman, Wes Roeschke, Connie Balcer and Gary Zitzlsperger.
