Mabel A. Donnell, 92, of Sioux City died Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2002, at Countryside Retirement Home following a brief illness.
Services will be 7 p.m. today at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel, with Mr. Ross Ford officiating. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 7:30 p.m., at the funeral home.
Mrs. Donnell was born May 4, 1910, in Kingsley, Iowa, the daughter of Willard Darwin and Abbie Cornelia (Wadams) Moser. She was a lifelong resident of Plymouth and Woodbury counties. She attended school in Plymouth County.
She married John A. Donnell on Jan. 28, 1936, in Le Mars, Iowa. She was a homemaker and assisted her husband on the family farm. Mr. Donnell died Sept. 6, 2002, in Sioux City.
She enjoyed meeting and feeding people, making cookies and dances. She also enjoyed sending cards and staying in contact with people that she met over the years.
Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Norma and Lowell "Tony" Lee Schager of Sioux City; a son and his wife, Dale and Sue Donnell of Texarkana, Texas; six grandchildren, Bill Schager, Ryan Schager and his wife, Missy, Jim Schager and his wife, Dani, Valerie Donnell, Eva and her husband, Mark Nadeau, and Jack Garner; and six great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and seven sisters.
Pallbearers will be Bill, Jim and Ryan Schager, Doug and Cecil Harris and Jimmy McKibben. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Countryside Retirement Home.
