Iva L. "Billie" Chriswisser, 77, of Sioux City died Friday, May 30, 2003, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Anderson-Perasso Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dr. Allen D. Call officiating. Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Monday in Grace Hill Cemetery, Hawarden, Iowa. Visitation will be 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, with the family present 2 to 4 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mrs. Chriswisser was born Aug. 20, 1925, in Akron, Iowa, the daughter of Charles J. and Margaret K. (Luschen) Peters. She was raised in Hawarden, then moved to Colorado for about 10 years. She then lived in Phoenix, Ariz., for two years and returned to Hawarden in 1960. She moved to Sioux City in 1975.

She enjoyed crossword puzzles and crocheting. She was a phenomenal poet.

Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Kathleen and Allen Van Wyhe of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Barbara and Craig Abker of Ocoee, Fla.; a brother, Delbert "Huck" Peters of Burbank, S.D.; two sisters, Matilda Goodrich of Hawarden, and Lillian Russo of Sioux City; seven grandchildren, Mark, Brian and Scott Van Wyhe, Eric and Tom Chriswisser and Feather and Chandra Abker; and a great-grandson, Adam Van Wyhe.

She was preceded in death by a son, Richard "Buzz" Chriswisser; her parents; five sisters, Marie Peters, Rose Johnson, Ellen Peters, Evelyn Peters and her twin, Ida Peters in infancy.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
