Donna M. Budd, 76, of Sioux City died Tuesday, May 4, 2004, at her residence following a lengthy illness.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Mayflower Congregational United Church of Christ, with the Rev. Charles Fisch officiating. Her final resting place will be in Kingsley Cemetery, Kingsley, Iowa. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.
Mrs. Budd was born Feb. 7, 1928, in Stanton Township, Plymouth County, Iowa, the daughter of George Martin and Ethel (Boom) Lynn. She was raised near Washta, Iowa, in the Leeds area of Sioux City, Conway, Ark., and then returned to Sioux City, where she had lived for the past 66 years.
She married Morris H. Budd on Oct. 2, 1954, at First United Methodist Church in Sioux City. She worked at Albertson's, Wincharger, T.S. Martin and Bishop's Cafeteria. She then worked at Wendy's on Hamilton for 13 years.
She was a member of Mayflower Congregational Church for more than 40 years. She was a member of Priscilla Circle and served on the board of deacons. She was an avid Cubs baseball fan. She spent her life caring for others and her family.
She is survived by her husband, Morris Budd; two sons and their wives, William and Kathy Budd and Douglas and Debbie Budd, all of Austin, Texas; a daughter, Arlynn Budd of Austin, Texas; a sister, Arlene Baldes of Sioux City; and two grandchildren, Brittany and Joshua Budd.
She was preceded in death by her father, George Lynn; her mother, Ethel Lynn Tighe; an infant brother, Robert Lynn; and a most special friend, Marion Chapin.
