LE MARS, Iowa -- Clara Brzuchalski, 90, of Le Mars passed away Monday, Sept. 8, 2003, at Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home.
Clara Brzuchalski was born Sept. 8, 1913, in Le Mars, the daughter of Carl and Ida (Hansen) Sanow. She was raised and educated in the Le Mars area.
She was involved in the restaurant business in Le Mars for much of her life. She owned and operated the Town and Country Cafe and the Highway Tap. She also worked at the Truck Haven Restaurant and Brownie's Lunch. She was also employed as a housekeeper for many years at Sacred Heart Hospital, now Floyd Valley Hospital, in Le Mars. She remained in Le Mars for her retirement years and lived with her son, Leonard.
She will be lovingly remembered by her three sons, Leonard of Le Mars, Richard of Sioux City, and John and his wife, Lilas of Algona, Iowa; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Edith Morgan of Sioux City and Betty and her husband, Robert Becker of Le Mars.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter-in-law, Frances; a brother, Leon Sanow; and three sisters, Ella Copeland, Adeline Penne and Louise Albright.
