Leona F. "Toots" Junck, 92, of Sioux City, formerly of Hinton, Iowa, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2003, at Northpark Senior Living Community following a lengthy illness.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Calvary Lutheran Church, with the Rev. David A. Schoop officiating. Burial will be in Rademacher Cemetery, rural Hinton. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Mrs. Junck was born June 24, 1910, in Miller, S.D., the daughter of John E. and Elsie M. (Willett) Munsch. She came to Sioux City at the age of four and lived here until her marriage.

She married Martin G. Junck on July 1, 1926, in Sioux City. The couple made their home on a farm in the Hinton area, where they farmed for 65 years. Mr. Junck passed away on June 4, 1989, in Hinton.

She was a charter member of Calvary Lutheran Church and a member of the Lamplighters and the Social Circle Club. She also was a member of the Golden Age Club in Hinton. She loved growing flowers and making afghans.

She is survived by three sons and their wives, Donald and Ida Junck of Mission, Texas, John and Vandy Junck of Sioux City and Kenneth and Sharon Junck of Hinton; a daughter and her husband, Leilyne and William Taylor of Sioux City; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Robert; a grandson, Michael; her parents; a brother, Norman Munsch; and a sister, Mildred Riese.

Pallbearers will be Rob Taylor, Troy Betsworth, Jack Fergen, Donald D. Junck, Shawn Lee and Rick Martin.
