Viola C. Junck, 93, of Sioux City, formerly of Hinton, Iowa, died Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2003, at Bickford Cottage.
Services will be 11 a.m. today at Calvary Lutheran Church, with the Rev. David Schoop and Chaplain Mary Hunter officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel.
Viola C. Junck was born Oct. 30, 1910, in Sioux City, the daughter of Herman and Mary (Ewert) Hageman. She grew up in the Hinton area and attended country schools.
She married Harold C. Junck Feb. 16, 1931. After their marriage the couple farmed in the Hinton area for most of their lives. Mr. Junck died Oct. 22, 1987, in Sioux City.
Viola had been in Sioux City for the last 10 years. She had worked at Johnson Biscuit for about five years.
She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church and Ladies Aid. She had also been a member of a card club. She enjoyed fishing, bowling and crocheting afghans.
Survivors include two sons, Ronald Junck and his wife, Marla, of Sioux City, and Gary Junck of Sioux Falls, S.D.; two daughters, Carol Tooker and her husband, Harold, of Merrill, Iowa, and Garnet Blankenburg and her husband, Dennis, of Sioux City; 12 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by four brothers, Herman, Marvin, Everett and William Hageman; and three sisters, Marie Zenor, Lillian Olson and Ida Farran.
Pallbearers will be Randy Tooker, Dennis Tooker, Curt Blankenburg, Theran Junck, Rich Junck and David Junck.
