HINTON, Iowa -- Betty Ann Bollmeyer, 71, of Hinton passed away peacefully Friday, Dec. 10, 2004, at her home with her family beside her, following a brief illness of cancer.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Morningside Lutheran Church in Sioux City, with the Rev. Kevin Lee officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, rural Hinton. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. Monday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Feuerstein Funeral Home in Le Mars, Iowa. Visitation will resume one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church.

The former Betty Ann Bock was born Sept. 5, 1933 in rural Merrill, Iowa, the daughter of Clarence and Irene (Markovich) Bock. She grew up in the Hinton and Merrill area and graduated from Hinton High School, where she was active in basketball, softball and cheerleading activities.

In 1954, Betty married her "love," Everett D. Bollmeyer, on Feb. 19, at Trinity Lutheran Church in rural Hinton. They resided in the Hinton area throughout their marriage. Betty worked at Swift Packinghouse for a few years and then joined Everett on the farm. She was also a cook at Hinton Community School for 11 years. Betty was also a caretaker and homemaker for a special friend, Margaret Carroll.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Ladies Aid and the American Legion Auxiliary, Casper Post 477 in Hinton. Betty was an avid bowler and golfer. She enjoyed cleaning, ironing, taking care of her family and attending sporting events of all kinds that her kids and grandkids were involved in. She also enjoyed cooking meals for the men in the fields and being with her friends. Betty was a loving and caring person, who was always taking care of her loved ones. She had a great personality and a fun outlook on life. She will be greatly missed as she was a big part of everyone's lives.

Survivors include her partner of 50 years of marriage, Everett Bollmeyer of Hinton; two sons, Dennis Bollmeyer and his wife, Judy, of Hinton and their five children, Crystal and her husband, Jeremiah Jauer, and their daughter, Baillie, and Angie, Brandon, Ashley and Breana and Lance Bollmeyer and his four children, Bridget, Brooke, Bryce and Kole; two daughters of Hinton, Cindy Kallsen and her husband, Bill, and their four children, Chad and his wife, Holly, and their son, Chase, Tiffanie Young and her husband, Dave, and their children, Bradley and Shelbie; and Katie and Ali and Vicki Krapfl and her husband, Joe, and their four children, Tom, Brittnie, Lyndsey and Alex. In all, Betty had 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers and their wives, Merlin and Donna Bock of Tracy, Minn. and Ronald and Dorothy Bock of Le Mars, Iowa; her mother-in-law, Violetta Bollmeyer of Hinton; a sister-in-law, Ladonne Bock of Eau Claire, Wis. and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Bock and his wife, Ida, and mother, Irene Markovich and her husband, Frank; her father-in-law, Edwin Bollmeyer; and a brother, Kenny Bock.

Pallbearers will be Gus Muecke, Tom Hansen, Bruce Elliott, Bob Toliver, Jerry Crawford and Warren Lahrs. Honorary pallbearers include her grandsons, Chad, Tom, Brandon, Bryce and Alex.
