DENISON, Iowa -- Anna Krick Auen, 83, of Denison died Sunday, Sept. 16, 2001, at Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Methodist Church in Schaller, Iowa. Burial will be in Schaller Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Farber and Otteman Funeral Home in Schaller.

Anna Krick Auen was born March 2, 1918, in Akron, Iowa, to George and Della Fenn. She was baptized in the Methodist faith. Anna graduated from Moville (Iowa) High School. She moved with her parents to Schaller, where she met Roy Krick. They were married Aug. 2, 1936. To this union was born three daughters, Sharalyn, Marilyn and Karen. They lived in Schaller for 46 years.

Roy passed away in 1982. Anna then moved to Cherokee, Iowa, residing there until moving to Denison, where she married Les Auen in September 1993. Les passed away in 1997.

Anna worked at Andy's Cafe in Schaller for 32 years, and at Central Popcorn Company for several years.

She was an avid bowler, bowling on leagues with her friends for many years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and a volunteer in the Ground Observer's Corps in the 1950s.

She is survived by her daughters, Sharalyn Flem of Fargo, N.D., Marilyn Auen and her husband, Richard of Denison, and Karen Otto-Schmidt and her husband, Dan Schmidt of Cherokee; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and two brothers-in-law, Eddie Mieras of Omaha, and Ernie Egdorf of Boyden, Iowa.

Anna was preceded in death by her husbands, Roy Krick and Les Auen; granddaughter, Jodi Anne Auen; 10 brothers and sisters; and her parents, George and Della Fenn.
