HEINO BUNJES

LE MARS, Iowa – Heino Benhard Bunjes, 72, of LeMars, died Wednesday, May 12, 1999, at Floyd Valley Hospital in LeMars.

Services were held Saturday, May 15, at Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars, with the Rev. Jean Morse of St. John’s Lutheran Church officiating. Burial was in Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Bunjes was born Oct. 12, 1926, in Oldenburg, Germany, the son of George and Gesina (Braahms) Bunjes. He moved with his family to the United States as a child.

He married Margaret Frasch on July 30, 1949, in Remsen, Iowa. The couple settle in the LeMars area.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He enjoyed reading.

Survivors include his wife; a son and his wife, Jeffery and Carol of Alta, Iowa; a daughter, Cindy Krienert, of Sioux City; four grandchildren, Kevin and Michael Krienert and Wesley and Bradley Bunjes; and three sisters, Wilma Vets of Sioux City, Hildegard and her husband, Arnold Hammond, of Sioux City and Mary and her husband, Gilbert Morfitt, of Minneapolis, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Steve; and a brother, Walter.

Pallbearers were Michael and Kevin Krienert and Wesley, Bradley, Matthew and Billy Bunjes.
