HENRY BEECK
Henry Beeck, 82, longtime LeMars area resident, and retired farmer, died July 15, 1991, at the Orange City Municipal Hospital after a brief illness.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. John's American Lutheran Church in LeMars with Reverend Gary Landsness officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens of rural LeMars.
Visitation is after 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars.
Mr. Beeck, was born August 26, 1908, in Fehmarn, Germany to Gustav and Christina Mangelson Beeck. He was baptized in Germany, and came to Iowa with his parents as an infant. He was confirmed in the St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church at rural Akron.
He married Rose E. Doering, December 1, 1935, in Grant Township, Plymouth County. The couple farmed in Plymouth County. Mrs. Beeck died in 1964.
Mr. Beeck was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in LeMars.
Survivors are two sons, Arlan Beeck, and his wife, Betty, of Boulder, Colorado, and Colonel Kenneth Beeck, and his wife, Judy, of Minot Air Force Base, North Dakota; six grandchildren, Shelly Jonas, Kathy Beeck, Robin Beeck and Dan Beeck, Kristen and Diane Beeck; two great-grandchildren, Jackie and Joshua Jonas; a brother, Alfred Beeck, of Brunsville, and two sisters, Martha Ludwigs of Akron and Marie Plueger of LeMars.
He was also preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Clara, Freda and Anne.
