LE MARS, Iowa -- Loren Lehrman, 66, of Canova, S.D., passed away Thursday, July 13, 2006, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minn.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Grace Lutheran Church in Le Mars, with the Rev. Larry Fett officiating. Interment will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, rural Le Mars. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spencer, S.D. Visitation will continue 11 a.m. until service time Monday at Grace Lutheran Church in Le Mars.

Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars is assisting the family of Loren Lehrman with arrangements.

Loren Dennis Lehrman was born Dec. 24, 1939, in Orange City, Iowa, to Lester and Luvena (Hesebeck) Lehrman. Loren was raised on the family farm near Maurice, Iowa, and graduated from Maurice High School in 1959. He served in the Iowa National Guard for several years. He worked for a couple of years at the paint factory in Orange City. Loren mostly worked as a truck driver for the last 39 years and primarily hauled livestock and fuel working for several companies in Northwest Iowa.
Throughout the years, he had also helped driving school bus and volunteered driving ambulance.

In 2001, Loren moved to Canova, S.D., to work with his cousin, Dan Lehrman on his farm. Loren retired in April 2005. He enjoyed country music, playing cards, hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed socializing with friends and family.

Survivors his children, LeMount D. and his wife, Angela Lehrman of Algonquin, Ill., Lyndel "Dee" Joy Lehrman of Seney, Iowa, Loren K. and his wife, Christie Lehrman of Mesa, Ariz., and a stepdaughter, Eiaron Lehrman of Queen Creek, Ariz.; two sisters, Janet Haack of Atlanta, Ga., and Ela Joy Lehrman of Tucson, Ariz; and several nieces and nephews.

Loren was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Luvena (Hesebeck) Lehrman; and a daughter, Lila Lehrman.

Pallbearers will be Dennis Rowley, Larry Siege, Rod Kluis, Earl Lehrman, Dan Lehrman and Dick Eimers.
