Albert Ulysses Penning, route 5, LeMars, passed away November 14, 1957, at his farm home in section 25, Elgin township, near Seney. He had been in failing health for the past several years.
Mr. Penning, a retired farmer, was born July 4, 1882, in Florence, Illinois. He came to the LeMars vicinity at the age of 12 years. He has lived here since. He was 75 years of age.
Mr. Penning and Lulu Lancaster were united in marriage April 26, 1923, in Sioux City.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 16, at 2 p.m. at the Seney Methodist church with Rev. G. T. Cannady officiating. Burial will be in the Seney cemetery under direction of the Mauer funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Lulu; three step-children, Mrs. Mabel Kennedy, of LeMars; Mrs. Ray (Florence) Hinde, of Montevideo, Minnesota; Vernon Penning, LeMars; two sisters, Mrs. Ina Demaray, Mitchell, South Dakota; Mrs. Lena Rees, LeMars; and a brother, William Penning, of LeMars; 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and 4 brothers.
