MRS. ETHEL SCHINDEL PASSES AWAY
Many old friends and neighbors were shocked Sunday to hear of the death of Mrs. Ethel Schindel, 78, who passed away early Sunday morning in a Sioux City hospital, due to a heart attack she suffered a few hours before her death.
Mrs. Schindel was born February 27, 1876, at Lincoln, Nebraska, and with her parents located in this community in 1888. She was a graduate of Sioux City high school, known as Central high school. She was united in marriage to Henry Schindel in 1899 at Hinton. Mr. Schindel died in 1941, and a son, Timothy, died in 1951. Mrs. Schindel was a member of the Methodist Church at Hinton, and an active charter member of the WSCS and various clubs. She had a host of friends who mourn her passing.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Claire Schneider, of Hinton; two sisters, Mrs. Roy Bogenrief of Hinton, and Mrs. William Weinrich of Auburn, Washington; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Heaton-Scott funeral chapel in Sioux City, with Reverend Donald Harbour, pastor of the Hinton Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial was in Graceland Park Cemetery at Sioux City.
