Mrs. Ellen Hauck
Mrs. Ellen Hauck, 88, of Kingsley, died Monday (Sept. 15, 1986) at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Kingsley after a long illness.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Kingsley United Methodist Church. Rev. Lester Hesseltine will officiate. Burial will be in the Kingsley Cemetery. Visitation will be after noon Wednesday with the family present from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. in Dickison-Michaelson Funeral Home in Kingsley.
Mrs. Hauck, the former Ellen Pearl Hughes, was born Oct. 24, 1897, at Akron to Edward and Rebecca Wright Hughes.
She was raised in the LeMars area where she graduated from school and then was a rural school teacher in Plymouth County.
She married Mahlon D. Hauck Dec. 25, 1920, in Sioux City. The couple lived at Akron and came to Kingsley in 1922 where she assisted her husband in operation of his oil business. He died May 9, 1957.
Mrs. Hauck was a member of Kingsley United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and Chapter GS PEO.
Survivors are a son, James W. of Kingsley; a sister, Vera Jeffers of Haxtun, Colo.; three grandchildren and six great-grandsons.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, a sister and three brothers.
