Iva Allen, 83, of LeMars, died Saturday (Sept. 13, 1986) at Plymouth Manor Care Center in LeMars.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Calvary United Methodist Church in LeMars. Rev. Kenneth Royar will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Meadow Cemetery near Washta.
Family visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday in Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars.
Mrs. Allen, the former Iva Nafe, was born Nov. 4, 1902, in Cherokee County, to A. Harvey Nafe and Alice Baker Nafe.
She taught school two years before her marriage to Ralph Allen May 31, 1923, near Pierson. The couple lived in Grand Meadow, Quimby, Cleghorn and LeMars areas. Mr. Allen died in 1977.
Mrs. Allen was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Reva Tomlinson of Spencer; four sons, Max of Waukon, Minn., Claire of Akron, Lowell of Meriden, and Verle of LeMars; a brother, Floyd of Pierson; a sister, Elma Klingensmith of Washta; 23 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a grandson and a brother.
