Lucille M. Plueger, 78, of Le Mars, died Saturday, Jan. 17, 2004, at Plymouth Manor Care Center in Le Mars.

Lucille M. Heeren was born July 3, 1925, on the family farm in Grant Township, rural Plymouth County, the daughter of Albert Ludwig Heeren and Lena J. (Croon) Heeren. Lucille was baptized into the Lutheran faith at Christ Lutheran Church. She attended country school in Grant Township.

Lucille was united in marriage to Clarence T.G. Plueger on Dec. 2, 1945, at Christ Lutheran Church. Lucille and Clarence farmed in Grant Township for many years. Clarence died Dec. 1, 1984. Lucille continued to live on the farm until 1997 when she moved to Le Mars. In February 2001, she moved to Plymouth Manor Care Center.

Lucille was a homemaker and cleaned homes for various families through the years.

She was a lifelong member of Christ Lutheran Church. She had been the Sunday school attendance secretary for several years and sang in the choir for many years. She was an active member of the W.E.L.C.A., where she had held various offices throughout the years.

Survivors include a sister, Edna Boysen of Le Mars; several nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister Elnora Munzke; and two nephews, Larry Munzke and Loren Boysen.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Christ Lutheran Church, Grant Township, rural Le Mars, with the Rev. Daniel Stegen officiating. Burial will be in Christ Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars with the family present to greet friends after 6 p.m. followed by a 7 p.m. prayer service. Visitation will continue at the church Wednesday morning from 9:30 a.m. to service time.
