Mrs. Guy H. Todd

Moville, Iowa—Mrs. Guy H. Todd, 69, Moville, died Sunday at a Sioux City hospital after a lengthy illness. [Date of death: 28 May 1978, per handwritten note on the scrapbook page]

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at United Methodist Church with the Rev. John A Dowd officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery in Merrill with the McCullock Funeral Home in charge.

Mrs. Todd, the former Viola M. Hauff, was born March 16, 1909, in Merrill. She graduated from Merrill High School, attended Morningside College in Sioux City and received her degree in education from the University of Nebraska in 1930.

She married Dr. Guy H. Todd Dec. 20, 1936, at Fort Snelling, Minn. They lived in various cities for 10 years while he was in the Army Veterinary Corps. In 1946, they moved to Moville, where he had a veterinary practice until his death in 1966.

Mrs. Todd was on the Woodbury Central Community School faculty from 1967 to 1973. She served as organist for Arlington Chapter 428, Order of the Eastern Star, for 24 years.

She was a member of the Moville United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Moville American Legion Auxiliary, Moville Women’s Club, Woodbury County Library Board and Delta Delta Delta.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Patrick (Susan) Spooner, of Pierson, and Miss Jane Todd, of LeMars; two brothers, Dwight of Sioux City and Warren of Merrill, and two grandsons.
