Cyril F. Montagne

Cyril F. Montagne, 81, 3201 Stone Park Blvd, died Tuesday at Westwood Convalescent Home after a short illness. [Date of death: Sept. 12, 1978, per hand written entry on the scrapbook page]

He was born May 26, 1897, at Jefferson, S. D. he farmed in the Jefferson vicinity until 1932, when he moved to Merrill, Iowa. He farmed there until his retirement in 1961, when he moved to Sioux City.

He married Jay Allard April 10, 1920, at Jefferson. She died June 27, 1966. He was a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church at Ellendale, Iowa. He was a member of Aerie 77 Fraternal Order of Eagles, and American Legion.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Lester (Dwilda) Kovarna of Hinton, Iowa; Mrs. Donald (Eileen) Kovarna and Mrs. Rolland (Lila) Thompson, both of Merrill; one borther, Raphel of Sioux City; one sister, Mrs. Leo (Mina Rose) Gobel of West Plains, Mo.; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Services are pending at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.
