Funeral Rites Held For Robert Young

Funeral services for Robert Allen Young of Sioux City will be held Tuesday, August 22, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Mauer's funeral home. The Rev. W. R. Moore of the Morningside Presbyterian church of Siux City will officiate. Burial will be in the LeMars city cemetery with Mauer's funeral home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Young, who was 55 at the time of his death, passed away at his home in Sioux City Sunday, August 19. His health had been failing for the past four years.

He was born Nov. 6, 1894 in Georgetown, Ohio, the son of Abraham and Lydia Penney Young. As a youth, he lived on a farm near Georgetown. In young manhood he moved to Cincinnati and later to Santa Monica, Calif., where he was employed by Douglas Aircraft corporation.

Robert Young married Dorothy W. Eyres in Santa Monica, April 4, 1931. A year later the couple moved to Iowa where they established homes in LeMars, Marcus and later in Sioux City. Mr. Young was engaged in the heating and plumbing business and was a member of the Morningside Presbyterian church.

Preceded in death by his father in 1930 and a brother, Virgil, in 1942, Mr. Young is survived by his wife, Dorothy of Sioux City, and three daughters, Kathryn Ann, Margaret Janet and Mary Jean.

Others surviving are his mother, Lydia Young of Bethel, Ohio; three sisters, Mrs. Amy Shaffer and Mrs. Fannie Coates both of Georgetown, Ohio, and Mrs. Daisy Jones of Cincinnati, Ohio; and three brothers, Homer and Henry of Cincinnati and Joseph of Bethel, Ohio.
