Well Known Resident Of Union Township Died Saturday, July 3

Alfred Ernest Eyres, a resident of Union township for many years, passed away at the age of 71, on July 3 at Sacred Heart hospital in LeMars, after a year's illness.

Ernest Eyres was born May 8, 1877, in Lampton county, Ontario, Canada, and moved to LeMars in 1882, with his family. He was united in marriage with Bertha Freda Kohl on March 26, 1902, in LeMars, and has farmed in that community since that time.

For a number of years Mr. Eyres was a member of the Union Consolidated school board, has served his community in many ways, and was active in church work.

He is survived by his wife and four children: Mrs. William Purse of San Jose, California; Mrs. Russell Williams of Stillwater, Minnesota; Mrs. David Hamilton of Union township, and a son, Dr. Alfred E. Eyres of Detroit, Michigan.

Funeral at Union Presbyterian church at 2 p.m. July 5.
