Joel Bradford Hawkins

Joel Bradford Hawkins, 7-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Norris N. Hawkins of route 4, LeMars, died Tuesday at Sioux City St. Joseph hospital after a 15-month illness. Joel had been hospitalized for three days.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the Seney United Methodist church with Rev. Milo Morris officiating.

Burial will be in the Seney cemetery, rural LeMars, under direction of the Mauer funeral home.

Joel was born Oct. 27, 1963, in LeMars, a son of Norris N. and Harriet E. Hawkins. He had been a lifelong resident of Plymouth county.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents.

Survivors in addition to his parents are a brother, Gregory B. and a sister, Nancy Jane, both at home, and his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry S. Hawkins of LeMars.
