ROLAND G. JOST

LeMars, Iowa – Roland G. Jost, 53, of LeMars, died Saturday, July 7, 1990, at Dryden, Ontario, Canada, as the result of a boating accident.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. John’s American Lutheran church in LeMars, with the Rev. Gary Landsness officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery in LeMars. Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. Sunday at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars.

Mr. Jost was born April 16, 1937, at Hampton, the son of Murville A. and Faith I. (Graham) Jost. He married Charlotte Helling Aug. 4, 1957, at Mason City. At the time of his death he was Market Manager for Fareway Stores, Inc., in LeMars. He graduated from high school in 1955 at Mason City and worked at the Fareway store there from 1955-1959. From 1959-1972, he was at the Charles City store. In 1972, he moved to LeMars.

He was a member of St. John’s American Lutheran Church, the LeMars Chamber of Commerce, the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks, the Lions Club and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Survivors include his wife; his mother, of Mason City; four sons and their wives, Mark and Deb of Fremont, Neb.; Mike and Jean of Milford, Iowa; Marty and Renda of Corinth, Texas; and Monte, at home; a daughter, Misti, at home; a brother, Dr. R. C. Jost, and his wife, Ruth, of Clear Lake, Iowa; a sister, Gloria Hartwig, and her husband, Devere, of Mason City; and a granddaughter, Jennifer.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Don and Roger.
