Witt-Lindquist

St. John's American Lutheran church in LeMars was the setting for the early summer ceremony which united Miss Mildred LaVonne Witt and Pastor Merrill Linquist in matrimony. The bride is the daughter of Julius R. Witt of Le Mars and the bridegroom the son of Mrs. Jarru Linquist of Moline, Illinois.

Dr. Louis L. Belk, pastor, read the double ring vows at 8:00 p. m.. on June 15, 1956. Candlelight was used in isle decorations and white tapers were set in white bows and blue flowers and seven branch candlbra decorated the altar.

Mrs. Karl Witt presided at the organ and accompanied Eugne Hanson as he sang appropriate numbers.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor length gown of ivory lace and nylon tulle styled with molded bodice and Mary Stuart sleeves. Her bouffant skirt was floor length and she wore a double tired French illusion fingertip veil edged in matching lace. The veil was held in place by a lace pillbox trimmed in pearls. She carried a lace net crescent shape, centered with calla lilies.

Matron of honor was Mrs. Donald Witt, sister-in-law of the bride. Bridesmaids were Mrs. John Luschen, Mrs. Karl Bergmark and Mrs. Eldon Clement. All of the bridal attendants wore powder blue pima silk gowns fashioned with cap sleeves, v-neckline and ruffled insertion bodice. Each had a full sweeping ballerina skirt They carried baskets of loose cut pastel flowers. Little three year old Linda Witt was flower girl. She wore a white pima silk short dress and scattered rose petals in the path of the bride. Leon Linquist. of Moline was his brother's bestman. Ushers were Leland Linquist, Wallace Witt, Leonard Witt, Donald Witt and Kenneth Twillman.

A wedding reception for 150 guests was held in the church parlors Decorations were carried out in the bridal colors of blue and white.

The bride has been living at 202 North Portland Blvd.. Portland. Oregon. The couple will live in Wanen, Oregon following a month's honeymoon.
