50th anniversary open house
Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Nielsen of Akron, will observe their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house from 2 to 4:30 p. m. Sunday, Feb. 14 at Trinity Lutheran church in Akron.

All friends and relatives are invited. The couple requests no gifts, please.

Hosts will be their family Jerry and Martha Nielsen of Viborg, S.D.; Norman and Elvira Nielsen of Le Mars; Merlin "Mac" and Merietta Nielsen, Roger and Darlis Nielsen and Loren and Nancy Nielsen, all of Akron. The couple has 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mr. Nielsen and the former Lois McCorkell were married Feb. 16, 1938 at Roseni Lutheran church, rural Beresford. They have lived on the same farm in Union county their entire married life.
