5-30-1929Siebens-McCorkell Nuptials
John Siebens and Miss Caryl McCorkell were married at the home of the bride's parents in Akron at high noon, Wednesday, May 22, 1929, Rev. Wilson Gow, pastor of the Methodist church officiating. The impressive ring ceremony of the church was used. Miss Siebens, sister of the groom played the wedding march. The attendants were Miss Anna Siebens, sister of the groom, and Harvey Taylor, who were also the legal witnesses.Following the wedding ceremony, a bountiful wedding dinner was served by Mrs. Howard
McCorkell, mother of the bride, assisted by her daughters and Mrs. Ruth Swift.The bride is one of Akron's finest girls, who was reared in this community and was graduated from the Akron high school. She has been teaching in the country schools during the past four years and is a superior young woman. The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Esdert Siebens and was born and grew to sterling young manhood in the country near the little town of Ruble, where he has been engaged in farming and where he and his bride will make their home. They have the congratulations and choicest wishes from a wide circle of warm friends.
