The couple was married at St. Mary’s Remsen by Father Schlier and have farmed in the Remsen and LeMars community their entire life except for four years in South Dakota.

The couple are the parents of fourteen children: Mrs. Mark (Helen) Rolling; Mrs. Paul (Rosemary) Kurth; Mrs. Richard (Lorretta) Hoss; Mrs. Kenneth (Doris) Rolfes; Alfred, Gerald; Raymond; Mary Ellen; Patrick; Julie Ann; Cyril; LeRoy; Esther; and Norine.
