Mr. and Mrs. Mike Kounkel, 4335 Polk St., Sioux City, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary, Saturday, February 7, with Open House from 2 until 5 at Calvary Lutheran parish hall at 4412 Central St., Leeds, Iowa. The family requests no gifts. Invitations have not been sent.

Mr. and Mrs. Kounkel were married February 7, 1899, at Trinity Lutheran Church at Hinton. They farmed in Plymouth County until 1929 when they moved to Leeds. They have been members of Calvary Lutheran Church since the parish was organized in 1935 and Mrs. Kounkel has been an active member of the Ladies Aid society of the church since that time.

Daughters of the couple are Mrs. Caroline Caldwell, Mrs. Ethel Betsworth and Mrs. Mabel Dixon of Sioux City and Mrs. Gertie Krause of Hinton. Their son, Earl, died in 1950. They have eight grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
