Chris Herzberg Weds Frances Port of Akron
Chris Herzberg, of Johnson township, and Miss Frances Port, of Akron, were quietly married Tuesday afternoon, February 26. The ceremony took place at the Plymouth manse at Crathorne, Rev. W. E. Smith officiating. The double ring service was used. The bride was attired in a pretty dress of midnight blue crepe with accessories to match. Her sister, Miss Ida Port, who was bridesmaid, wore Alice blue crepe with accessories to match. The bridegroom was attended by his cousin, Elmer Herzberg.
A wedding dinner was served at the home of Orville Port in Sioux City. The young couple left on a trip to South Dakota. On their return they will be at home to their friends on a farm in Johnson township.

Port Herzberg
A very pretty wedding was solemnized at the Plymouth church manse on Tuesday afternoon February 26 at two o’clock when Miss. Frances Port became the bride of Chris Herzberg in an impressive double ring ceremony.
The bride was wearing a beautiful gown of midnight blue with accessories to match and she looked every whit the part of a beautiful and charming bride. The groom wore a suit of black. The attendants were Miss Ida Mae Port, sister of the bride and Elmer Herzberg a cousin of the groom. There were no other guests present.
Following the wedding ceremony the wedding party went to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Orville Port in Sioux City for a wedding dinner.
Mr. and Mrs. Herzberg are well known in west Plymouth county, both of them having been born and reared in this immediate locality. Chris is a farmer and is making a success of the business of farming. Mrs. Herzberg has been most active in the social and religious life of Plymouth church for many years and will be greatly missed by the young folks of the church.
They left for a visit with relatives in South Dakota on Thursday morning and will be at home to their many friends at the Herzberg farm home in Johnson Township in a few days.
PLYMOUTH CHIMES joins the multitude of friends of the worth young couple in wishing for them a long and happy married life.
