Supervisors Adopt Resolution Concerning Death of Dick Bohlken
At their meeting last Monday the Plymouth county board of supervisors adopted the following resolution concerning the death of their member, Dick Bohlken:
“Whereas Dick Bohlken was acting as a member of the Board of Supervisors of Plymouth County, Iowa, at the time of his death, and had been a member of said board for about six years, and
Whereas said Board of Supervisors will miss his friendly counsel and advice, said Board of Supervisors desires to go on record and to pass a resolution in memory of their departed member.
Therefore be it resolved by said Board of Supervisors that the following statement be embodied in this resolution and that a copy of this resolution be presented to the family of the deceased, that a copy be presented to the press of the city of LeMars, Iowa, and of his home town, and a copy be made a matter of permanent record in the records of the Auditor of Plymouth County, Iowa
Dick Bohlken was born in Plymouth County, Iowa, and remained a resident of said county all his life and worked for the best interests of his community, county and state at all times. He was public-spirited and took an interest in public affairs and served in public office in many capacities. In all his public career he worked in a friendly, genteel manner for the best interests of the people he served, and could truly be called a public servant who served faithfully and well.
His kindly, soft-spoken way endeared him to many, and his sound judgment and years of experience will be missed around the counsel table.
