Anna Lydia Lippke Zimmerman (Mrs. Walter Gottlieb) Zimmerman passed to her eternal reward on November 7, 1972. She was 85 years, 6 months and 29 days. Funeral services were held on Saturday, November 11, 1972 at the Mauer Funeral Chapel. Rev. Jacob Van Kekerix of Orange City officiated. Commital was made at the Stanton township cemetery.

Anna Lydia Lippke, wife of Walter G. Zimmerman was born April 8, 1887 in Stanton township, rural Merrill, Iowa. She is the daughter of Julius and Augusta Louise Meier Lippke. Mrs. Zimmerman had resided in Stanton township. She received her education at the Stanton township country school.

On Feb. 3, 1909 Anna was united in marriage to Walter G. Zimmerman. They resided in Plymouth township. She was a devoted homemaker and mother. To this union seven children were born: Lois Arvella (Zimmerman) Rees; Kenneth Walter Zimmerman; Roy Donald Zimmerman; Noble Harlan Zimmerman; Evelyn Anna Zimmerman; Carol Grace Zimmerman; and Pearl Elaine (Zimmerman) Smith.

In December, 1946, the Zimmermans retired and moved to Le Mars, Iowa. Mrs. Zimmerman was active in various departments of the Stanton Evangelical Church, later becoming a member of the Dover Alliance Church at Orange City, Iowa.
