Louise Charlotte Berner was born in Jackson county, Iowa, April 9, 1862. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gottlieb Berner, were among the early settlers in the Floyd Valley and located near Melbourne. Louise grew up on the farm home and received her education in the public schools.

Louise was united in marriage with George Washington Zimmerman February 13, 1883. Following their marriage they lived in Le Mars, Iowa for six or seven years. They purchased a farm in Plymouth township where she lived the remainder of her life.

To Mr and Mrs. Zimmerman seven children were born: Walter G. Zimmerman; B. Frank Zimmerman; Arthur J. H. Zimmerman, Helen M. (Mrs. Irvin E.) Brandstetter, Roy Zimmerman who passed away at age 15 in May, 1908;, Tilda (Mrs. Erick P.) Lippke, and a daughter who died in infancy.

Mrs. Zimmerman was a loving wife and mother a good neighbor and esteemed by all who knew her. She was a member of the Stanton Evangelical Church for than thirty years, and took an active part in the work of the church and community affairs as long as her health permitted. Mrs. Zimmerman was an invalid for ten years, a martyr to illness caused by rheumatism.

She passed away at her home June 9, 1925 at the age of 63 years. The immediate cause of death was pneumonia. She had four brothers and a sister, Jacob F. Berner, G. E. Berner, Christian E. Berner, Dr. Wm. F. Berner and Mrs. Henry H. and Mary Schindel.

Funeral Services were held June 12, 1925, 1:30 p.m. at the house and 2:00 p.m. at the Stanton Church. Rev. E. J. Knopf, a former pastor of the church officiated, assisted by the pastor. Rev. W. C. Mc Kinley assisted at the interment at Stanton Township Cemetery.
