Becky Murray, 66, of Graettinger,Iowa passed away at her home in Graettinger on Monday, December 7, 2020.

A public visitation for Becky was held on Thursday, December 10,at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Graettinger.

Rebecca Lee Murray, daughter of Dale and Verna (Duhn) Starkey, was born on August 18, 1954 in Estherville, Iowa.

Becky attended elementary school at Lincoln Central in Dolliver, Iowa and graduated from Graettinger High School in 1972. Becky worked as a CNA at Rosewood Manor in Estherville. On July 13, 1972, Becky was united in marriage to Terry Murray at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. The couple then made their home in the Graettinger area. Becky worked many jobs outside the home through-out her life, most notably were at The Hillcrest, and The Drive-Up, helping her sisters. Becky enjoyed doing daycare in her home for many years.

Becky is a member of Bethel Lutheran Church, where she was active in Circle. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Graettinger. Becky was a friendly face to everyone she met. She had a very compassionate soul, opening her home to friends, family, or pets that were in need. She left a great impact on many people. Becky has always been a huge supporter of her children and grandchildren’s events, rarely missing any. She enjoyed going to the casino and playing cards.

Becky is survived by her children, Allan (Melanie) Murray and their children, Kelvin (Jessie Wood) Higgins, Carter Murray, Tanner Murray and Riley Murray; Stacy (Jake) Ebel and their children, Tyler Manning and Hailey Ebel; Abby (Eric) Jensen and their children, Connor Jensen and Evan Jensen; great-grandchildren Michael and Mason Manning and Camdin Higgins. She is also survived by sisters, Linda Walrath and Kay Starkey; mother-in-law, Dolores Murray; brothers-in-law Bill Murray, Tony (Marilyn) Murray, and Kenneth (Jenny) Murray; sisters-in-law Linda (Laverne) Jensen and Kathy (Pat) Smith; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Terry; her parents, Dale and Verna (Duhn) Starkey; sister, Gale (Doug) Nelson; and brother, Greg Starkey; father-in-law Kenneth Murray; and nephew Timothy Westfall.

A private family service was held Thursday, December 10, 2020 at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Graettinger with burial at Valley View Cemetery, Graettinger.
