Mrs. Henry Dimler

Mrs. Henry Dimler died at her home in this city at 5:30 p.m. Saturday. She had been enfeebled with age for several years and death was expected at any time. Funeral services were held at St. Thomas church Sunday and the remains interred in St. John's cemetery.

Miss Eliza Page was born in Ireland in 1825 and hence was 92 years of age at the time of her death. She came to America in 1856 and resided at Detroit, Mich., for a short time. From there she went to McGregor, Ia., where she lived a few months and thence she went to Ft. Dodge to reside where in June 1857 she united in marriage with Henry Dimler. They came to Emmetsburg in May, 1872, and have since resided here. They had one son, William, who died thirty-seven years ago.

Perhaps no one in the county was better known than Mrs. Dimler during the active years of her life. She was a good true christian woman and exceedingly charitable, kind and helpful to her neighbors and friends. Her husband was engaged in the furniture business here for many years and she assisted him constantly. In this way she came in touch wit the public. She was a constant companion and a helper to her husband, a devoted, dutiful wife. For several years both have been helpless from the weight of years. The husband will find the remainder of his years empty and dreary without her. The sympathy of the entire community goes out to him. She has one sister living, Mrs. Thos. McLaughlin of Minneapolis who with her daughter, Miss Mary Mackin was in attendance at the funeral. The other relatives who came to attend the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Thos. McLaughlin of Fonda, Mrs. Page of Dubuque, Mrs. Mary Weiss of Badger and Paulena Dimler of Ft. Dodge.
