Lucille M. Bormann, 88, 1920-2009
Services for Lucille Margaret Bormann were held Friday, February 6, 2009 at St. John's Catholic Church in Bancroft with Father Paul D. Bormann officiating. Interment was in St. John's Catholic Church Cemetery.
Lucille Margaret Bormann was born March 17, 1920 in West Bend, daughter of John and Susanna (Etringer) Thilges. Lucille grew up in West Bend attending school there through the 10th grade.
Lucille was united in marriage to Alfred Bormann on February 5, 1946 at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in West Bend. Nine children were born to this union. They moved to a farm Southwest of Bancroft in 1954 and they built a new home in Bancroft in 1976 and retired from farming.
Lucille loved being with her family. She enjoyed gardening, raising flowers, and cooking. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and was active in St. John's Altar Society. Lucille M. Bormann died Monday, February 2, 2009 at Kossuth Regional Health Center, Algona at the age of 88,
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Alfred Bormann of Bancroft; eight children, Darrell Bormann of Faribault, MN, Nick Bormann and his significant other Freda Grove of Swea City, John Bormann and his wife Gail of Waukee, Carl Bormann and his significant other Diane Burbach of Bancroft, Carleen "Kay" Proehl and her husband Terry of Mapleton, MN, Paul Bormann and his wife Mary Ann of Bancroft, Diane Lee of Mason City, and Carol Young and her husband Richard of Roseville, MN. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren; three great¬grandchildren; two sisters, Alice Gartner of Mapleton, MN and Fidelis Frideres and her husband Clarence of Algona; one brother, Edwin Thilges and his wife Thelma of West Bend; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son Eugene in March, 1990; two sisters; and four brothers.
