Emmetsburg, IowaWILLIAM MALLOY PASSES AWAY
Dies in Hospital at Rochester from
Heart TroubleWilliam Malloy of Great Oak Township died at the hospital at Rochester on Sunday morning, October 14. He had gone there for treatment having suffered from heart trouble for sometime. His wife had accompanied him there and was with him when he died. The body was brought home for burial reaching here Monday evening. Funeral services will be held at the Assumption Church at ten o’clock this morning and the remains interred in St. John’s cemetery. The pallbearers are members of the Forrester Lodge.
William Malloy was born in Allamakee County in February 1869. He came to this county with his parents in March 1879 and located in Great Oak Township. On April 1898, he united in marriage with Catherine Brennan. They have resided on their farm constantly since. His wife and eight children survive him. The oldest child is eighteen and the youngest is only three. The children are Hilda, Maurice, Donald, William, Mary, Kathryn, Thomas and Joseph.
The deceased is well known to our readers and his friends were numbered by his acquaintances. He was an honest, honorable man and a citizen of whom any community might well be proud. He was industrious and frugal and a splendid provider. To his neighbors he was kind and obliging and was never offensive in either manner or speech. That he was generally admired and respected is not wondered at. However, it was in his own home above all other places that he always made his real worth felt. He was devotion itself to his wife and family. There was nothing overlooked or neglected that he could do for their comfort or happiness. He was a good, kind, devoted husband and father and his death has brought a grief to his faithful wife and children that only time and the mercy of God can assuage. Besides his wife and children, he leaves two brothers, Patrick and Michael Malloy and one sister, Miss Ellen Malloy, who mourn his death. To them all, the Tribune extends sincere sympathy.
